What it is for

The holiday sprint starts the first Monday in November. Order clocks move up, sometimes to the previous Thursday, because gift crates and apparel fight for the same pickers. The week's exact clock is in the confirmation, and that line wins over the general Monday page.

How it ships

Lists still being edited on 15 December will not become crates on the 20th. Freeze the list, or buy a plain client crate and a card you can write by hand. Handwriting fifty cards is your labour. It is still faster than a reprint.

At the door

We add a marked aisle for gift tissue and insert packs so they are not buried under tees. If your order is both, say gift in the subject. A mixed order that does not say so gets picked like ordinary replenishment, and the tissue loses.

When it slips

Storms and ice do not take the month off because it is a busy season. A hold in Minneapolis in December is normal. Tell your list a date range, not a single morning, if the yard is a winter yard.

Use this window by name in the subject. Mixing two windows in one email makes two picks. If you are unsure which yard can honour it, look at the yard pages and at the order window sheet. The confirmation, once sent, is the clock that counts.

If the yard you want does not run this window, the reply will name one that does, or it will say no.

Capacity is checked when the email arrives, not when the truck is at the door. Gift crates in the holiday sprint take hands that apparel used in October. Soft goods in Phoenix and Dallas still want the morning wave even if the window says Friday. The confirmation line is the one a receiver should believe if this page and the week ever disagree.

Keep the ASN, the door, and a person who will be in the building. Holiday sprint fails quietly when the shop is locked. It also fails loudly when two threads exist for one order. Stay on the first thread. Change quantities there, before the pick, and say which line died.
