A missed Newark slot does not return after lunch

The gate clerk leaves, and the door is not a suggestion.

The situation

Newark appointments run until 14:30. A driver who misses 11:00 does not get 15:30. The clerk is gone, the next wave is staged, and the port road is already unkind. The slot rolls to Wednesday. People hear that and think we are being sharp. We are being finished for the day.

What we do with it

Dallas holds a door fifteen minutes, then gives it away. Los Angeles starts so early that a morning arrival at 10:30 has missed the point. The yard page has the hours. The confirmation has the slot. Those two lines are the whole policy.

What you should do

If the driver is late, write while they are still an hour out. Sometimes the door behind them is empty and we can slide. Often it is not. Silence until the truck is at the wrong bay helps nobody, including the driver.

The limit

Receivers on your side have the same duty. A Friday floor with a locked shop is not a carrier failure. Put a name in the order email, and make sure that person knows the slot. The carton cannot knock.

If this note matches a carton in your room, reply on the order thread rather than starting a fresh complaint. Codes and photos beat a retelling. The sheets are the durable version of these stories, and the windows are the clocks the stories keep bumping into.

Keep going

If this is your carton

The gate clerk leaves, and the door is not a suggestion. Reply on the order thread with the code and the ASN. A fresh email titled with the story name loses the history A missed Newark slot does not return after lunch is trying to protect. One issue per note. Photos of the flap and the inner beat a paragraph about how the week felt.

Match the story to a sheet before you invent a local rule. Receiving, claims, appointments, and weather already say what the yards will do. A missed Newark slot does not return after lunch is the reason those sheets are short. They were written after a real miss, not before a campaign.

Same-week still means the named window when the apron is working. It does not mean a customer holding the good at 10:00, and it does not overrule ice, heat, or a locked shop. If you need a date that cannot slip, the carton has to be in your room the week before. A missed Newark slot does not return after lunch is a floor note, not a guarantee you can forward to a vice president unchanged.
