A proof is a lock, not a brainstorm.

The situation

Andre Blake sends proofs that look boring: placement, type, lot code left visible, colours as close as the stock allows. Buyers sometimes reply with a new sentence and a note that someone senior just weighed in. That reply misses the window. The slot moves a week. Everyone acts surprised.

What we do with it

We will still catch a wrong phone number or a safety line that contradicts the bottle. We will not catch a strategy change. If the offer is not settled, stay on blanks. Blanks are a real product. They are how you learn the closure before you own five thousand printed ones.

What you should do

Stickers are the usual compromise and the usual mistake. A sticker that covers the lot code makes the next claim slow. Leave the code. Put your mark beside it. If a designer says there is no room, the label is too crowded.

The limit

Print is Thursday of a label week when the proof was answered Wednesday. Goods that need that print ship the next goods window. Collapsing those two weeks is the request we refuse most often, and the refusal is the kindest email we send.

If this note matches a carton in your room, reply on the order thread rather than starting a fresh complaint. Codes and photos beat a retelling. The sheets are the durable version of these stories, and the windows are the clocks the stories keep bumping into.

Keep going

If this is your carton

A proof is a lock, not a brainstorm. Reply on the order thread with the code and the ASN. A fresh email titled with the story name loses the history What we will not print on a Tuesday night is trying to protect. One issue per note. Photos of the flap and the inner beat a paragraph about how the week felt.

Match the story to a sheet before you invent a local rule. Receiving, claims, appointments, and weather already say what the yards will do. What we will not print on a Tuesday night is the reason those sheets are short. They were written after a real miss, not before a campaign.

Same-week still means the named window when the apron is working. It does not mean a customer holding the good at 10:00, and it does not overrule ice, heat, or a locked shop. If you need a date that cannot slip, the carton has to be in your room the week before. What we will not print on a Tuesday night is a floor note, not a guarantee you can forward to a vice president unchanged.
